Behold and be grateful! Embedded here, you may find an audio file:
This audio file is Vin Scully calling the 9th inning of Sandy Koufax's perfect game.

It is baseball poetry. If you haven't heard it, listen to it. If you have, listen to it again.

"SWUNG ON AND MISSED, THE PERFECT GAME!"

They play that for us Dodger fans all the time. Never gets old. Right up there with "in a season that has been so improbable, the impossible has happened!" (Gibby's homer)

My favorite quote is, "And there's 29,000 people in the ballpark and a million butterflies."

The way he describes Sandy's mannerisms in between pitches and paints the tension in specifics, the crowd, Sandy himself, his teammates both on the field and in the dugout, and even the opponents. It's such a complete picture, you can see and feel the moment just through his voice.
