Oh, and by the way,

D. Rose is sitting tonight with an ankle injury. Shocker.
Eh, not sure that's fair. Zero ankle injury history. Seems to be a standard minor ankle roll.

I don't know about ever... there were the back to back MVP seasons for Nash. :L
He almost had back to back to back. He was runner up to Dirk I believe the third year.

The point is that he misses games all the time.

I know what the point was. Rose has had serious knee injuries that have ended his season multiple times.

Lazy and unfair, imo, to group a minor ankle sprain in with that.

Unless your name is Shaq, Kobe, LeBron, or Durant - You're not allowed to win MVP in the post-Jordan NBA.

The frontrunners said Nash's MVP's weren't legit. They then said the same thing about Dirk, Rose, and most recently, Russell Westbrook.

Get the idea yet?

Rose was a good player before his injury, even now he's still serviceable but top 10 all time? Don't think so.

This is probably the most accurate post of this thread. I'll give the OP more credit than most. I live near Chicago and his three-point shot was in fact starting to develop during his MVP year.

That being said, Rose was always a player that relied on athleticism a little too much. He was bound to get hurt one way or another, especially under Thibs.

Facts are backed enough.. Then DON'T be a dunsky and compare a guy who had his career peak/prime cut short due to injuries to guys who played their entire peaks/primes

Intelligent observers know things would have been different if Rose and the Bulls were healthy through their run. They would have a few Finals Appearance and the LeCavs and LeHeat would have LESS

what if's and coulda beens are examples of serious derpa derp. OP is a derpa derp.

Not lazy or unfair.

Much of the issue in Chicago was that people questioned his willingness to play at less than 100%. His recovery from some of those knee issues took far longer than the original time table. Just because he injured a different body part does not change the fact that Rose tends to miss more than the normal time line with the injuries he sustains.

Rose has been injury prone and he does not return as quickly as the average player. That is real and Rose has earned that rep.

Allen Iverson and Jason Kidd come to mind.

AI is definitely another one. JKidd did have a better team around him than Lebron for sure. Martin, Jefferson, Kittles, Van Horn wasn't near the dropoff that AI or Lebron had

Really? Look at those names you just typed. Any and all of them should be coming off the bench for a Finals team. That was the starting lineup, not the bench.

Injuries is the point. If he can't play then why should it not be included?

Martin was actually pretty good in NJ. So was RJ. Martin was a number 1 pick, made an all star team and RJ was a 20 per game scorer at that point. Van Horn and Kittles were pretty solid starters.

That is a typical 3 or 4 seed type of team. The thing is, every good East team from that era was a typical 3 or 4 seed.

He only won MVP because everyone hated LBJ that year

True, that's fair. Honestly, I'd forgotten about that aspect of his injuries in Chicago.

And look at the 07 Cavs roster. Their second best player was Larry Hughes, I would take those Nets players over the Cavs roster in a heartbeat and betting Lebron would too.
