Back in the day before MLB got so greedy and let the individual teams decide their own destiny, this game would have been postponed because of the weather. It's stupid to think fans want to endure this. But it yielded some interesting info -- that there are about 10,000 season ticket holders for the Sox.Look... I don't deny that the White Sox attendance has always been lackluster. When the team stinks, people don't care to show. It's not like on the North Side where it's a party, regardless. Guaranteed Rate is in between south side housing projects. lol
The White Sox home games have mostly all been played with windchill in the 20's to this point (up until yesterday... the first day where the temp broke 40). They've played two games played in the snow.
Games for the Rays series were moved up during the afternoon in the middle of a work week.
That on top of a lake effect snowstorm the morning of the game. You're not going to draw dick. Even the Cubs home opener had some noticeably empty seats at Wrigley. Which never happens.
The White Sox grounds crew had to do snow removal to prepare the field for that game. lol. People don't want to watch baseball in that.
For the cost of a ticket to Fenway you are either crazy for buying them, and even crazier not to use themWell Fenway has good crowds even without the Yankees.
I blame the (so called) fans
how many were Rays fans
