Walks have far less true value to a power hitter than they do to a guy like Altuve who is a much bigger threat to manufacture a run. Walks can actually neutralize a power hitter's threat. Especially lefty power hitters. It shows he has patience at the plate, but, meh. So what. Who would you rather have on first base. Judge or Altuve?

Altuve....But strikeouts should only be emphasized if it is impeding your ability to get on base, otherwise they are just outs, and based on Judges; OBP, he is still making less outs than most of the baseball

Mariners can't do anything right. Shouldn't surprise anyone. They can't even tank when they need to. Yesterday's win over Oakland put Oakland within two games of clinching a higher draft choice than the Mariners.

My take in any league has always been MVP should NOT be best player but most valuable to his team

(Kinda why Lebron should be the MVP every season)


Although Im not a huge fan of pitchers winning it, i think there could be those exceptional seasons......Like Sale this season, where is that team without him this season? Certainly not in first place, and I doubt very much with the state of the rest of that staff, in the postseason at all.....I think he is pretty worthy this season based on the value he holds to the Sox this season

Yeah, but couldn't you say the same thing about Poleranz. He doesn't have the sexy stats like Sale, but:
When Sale pitches the Red Sox are 22-9
When Polaranz pitches the Red Sox are 21-10.

There isn't a huge difference which suggests that the Red Sox are really where they are because of the run support the pitchers are getting.

Well I don't really care how the media portrays an award. The Hank Aaron Award is for the best hitter, the Cy Young Award is for the best pitcher, the MVP is for the Most Valuable Player.

Has nothing to do with being a Red Sox fan. I already said my top 3 in MVP would be Altuve, Kluber, and Judge. Last I checked none of those were on the Red Sox.

Altuve is definitely amazing, and is definitely winning it

And maybe deservedly so, i think the consistency and the Yankee thing will clinch it for him

That's true. They will break the record shared by the 2010/2011 Diamondbacks, 1998/1999 Diamondbacks, and 1990/1991 Braves who all lost 97 games and then made the playoffs the following season.

I expect him to win. Oakland is trying to get ahead of Seattle in the draft pick order, so they don't have much incentive to win.
