Cut them some slack, it's only been 108 years. You'd think one WS every 108 years would satisfy some people, right? Not like 3 in the past 8 or anything.

The Cubs fans have always traveled well. Sure, they are a notch above this year, but it really isn't anything new.

Good for them. NONE of them have experienced a championship before. They want to soak it in. More power to them.

3-1 in Panda's second go-round.

So we have the Jackson-Beck going on? Man, how long has that been?

I swear I feared Bum would get just 1 win this year.

Actually 4-1, playing .800 ball since Panda arrived (2-0 vs AZ, 2-1 vs Cubs)

That's a blast from the past. About 25 years in the past.

I think Dyson is a bit more accomplished in his career than Jackson was while he was Shooter's setup guy. But basically, Beck/Jackson/Burba is a fair equivalent to Melancon/Dyson/Smith

And we have Strickland too who has become a valuable set up guy. We may have a new FYWW big 4 next year if they all do what they should. The pen is our strength right now.

I think I like Crick more that Strick. It is amazing how he has turned himself around this year.

And the Core Four was so strong, I think, because the weakest link was probably the closer. Romo and Lopez were arguably the best specialists in the game during their heights and Affeldt was an amazing 2-inning pitcher. Casilla was a passable closer, but he was good because he was able to hold down the closer job so the other (better) guys could become roll-players.

I don't see the emerging core having that same makeup. Smith looks to be a poor-mans Affeldt, but we don't have a true LOOGY. Strickland may be a ROOGY, but he isn't as dominant as Romo was against righties, I don't think.

I still like Strickland more but why choose, 5 good bully arms then, at least.
