I'm not sold on Fournette, and he's coming off a leg injury...the Lions already have their fair share of RB's with perpetual leg injuries. I don't know who they should grab but they need to go after someone who can get them 4+ YPC.
Very good point on the injury front. Damn they can't keep a back healthy to save their lives. What about Foreman?

Teams with as many needs as the Lions should never get a RB in the 1st round in today's NFL. You can get a RB in the latter rounds, an elite LB, DT, RT or LG is much more rare.

Various games in college and scouting tapes. Youtube highlights as well. They have video on all the prospects. Lattimore was good, not great in coverage, and not an elite tackler. Hooker was what made the secondary great.
I guess that's your opinion (and yours alone).

Only teams like the Browns spend a 1st round pick on a RB with massive needs everywhere else.

RB, FB, WR, TE, OT, OG, C, DE, DT, CB, FS, SS
The two safeties will suffice.. The biggest needs are MLB and Will positions. And the other holes I mentioned earlier in the thread. They need to get rid of Whitehead and the Bearded Bitch and put two guys next to Bynes.

They do need an alpha dog at WR. Tate is clearly a bitch whom pouts and Jones is a weak pussy. Need a WR to count on most plays.

The problem with the Lions is they end up losing those guys. They had one of the best D-lineman in the game and they let him go. Problem with spending 1st round money on guys like Suh, is that a huge portion of your salary cap is spent on a lineman. Better to pay the elite skill guys and find the other positions in the lower rounds.

Not true at all.

A. The Browns haven't drafted a RB that early in 5 years, and that was because they had loaded up on everything but in several drafts prior.
B. What do you call the Rams taking Gurley last year?

I wouldn't take Foreman high. He's like a 4th or 5th round pick.

A clear mistake as David Johnson is worlds better.

You guys had one for nearly a decade and you ruined his career. Maybe fix your other problems first. Like the running game, for example.

We didn't ruin his career. I know people whom know Calvin personally. He was going to retire regardless. It wouldn't have mattered if it was with the Lions or the Patriots.

That was the old GM, and those same salary rules no longer apply to 1st rounders.

He's also racist, so there's that too.

Mayhew was a clown. So many bad draft picks clearly picked out of a hat.

Yeah but he probably would've liked to have some team success over the course of his career I would imagine.
