We gotta give tzill a break, this is the first year I can remember when the starting pitching has ALL been so shitty. Might be improving now but I think he has PTSD

I bet you that there is a reporter's note out there somewhere where Bochy answered the question about how he is handling Gearrin with: "We just got to give him a little time to get back to where we know he is back to his old self. He's a veteran that can handle the stress and he'll be out there in tight situations again, just like before."

Saturday - did not play
Sunday - pinch hit for pitcher
Monday - started, played left field (Williamson on the bench)
Tuesday - pinch hit for pitcher
Wednesday - pinch hit for pitcher
Thursday - no game
Friday - started, played left field (Williamson on the bench)

I know, small sample size, but Pence has started 2 of the first 6 games since he was activated. Maybe the frequency decreases but it seems a bit more of a platoon so far.

Edit: And him going 2 for 4 today is probably going to encourage Bochy to play him more.

And why not? That's sort of the point. And as I mentioned, the problem. Even our bench guys should be starting. That's a good thing!

A little bit.

He was very loud in his pre-load stance (Herky, if you will). Hunched over a bit, hands up by his shoulders. Smaller leg kick.

Now he's more quiet in his pre-load. Stands more upright, hands lower towards his chest. Bigger leg kick.

But when he swings, he still gets small, hunches over like his classic swing.

It's still not pretty, but it's not as wild.
