bad news for sox

Shane Victorino (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Portland on Friday.

He'll play for Portland on Friday and Saturday before being activated from the disabled list Monday if all goes well. Victorino has struggled with a .143/.302/.171 batting line this season, but he'll go back to playing regularly in right field for as long as he can stay healthy.
