Non-baseball, been a huge Warriors fan since 1971. I am sick that Leonard is missing time with the Spurs. The Dubs are crushing the Spurs by 33 tonight in the 3rd quarter. There's no fun in a 30 point win if the other team is minus its best player. Of course, there's no fun in LOSING to a team that is missing its best player, either.

You know what I just realized last night...

We are in the middle of an infusion of young talent from the minors.

We already have Arroyo, Mac, Blach, Law, Osich and Okert contributing to the big club. And probably before the end of the year, we will see Beede, Shaw, Heathcott, Moronta, Crick...

Not bad from a barren wasteland.

If TZ is at the game, he's getting his money's worth.

Maybe I underestimated this farm system . . .

Its not that the minors is a barren waste land, its that there are no real franchise changing players down there. But, that comes from trading a ton of players for rentals and being so damn good for so long. Now we need to either go on a run, and it looks like we might be headed that way, or trade some players for prospects to a team who is on the verge of contending. The Yankees and Red Sox have good prospects and are in dire need of a 4th and 5th starters. Both also have impatient fans who can turn on them in a hurry.
Jeff Samardzija if he continues pitching as he has in the last 4 games can be traded or maybe Matt Moore. And as much as I like Cain he has been balling and he is a veteran on a 3 time world championship team he can help the Giants out a ton by bring in some young players. The way that Blach has been pitching he should stay a starter and we should make a move.

Blach has been money this year starting. He should be pushed into number 5 and Cain number 4 when MadBum gets back.

Look at ALL those awesome kids we traded away...

Tommy Joseph - FIVE years after the trade, and he is finally a permanent MLBer, and not one that is really gaining a whole hell of a lot of attention.

Zach Wheeler - LOL

Adam Duvall - OK. But I am still not convinced he would have become that player in this park, but he does hurt.

Tim Alderson - His next MLB pitch will be his first. And he has retired, so that isn't likely.

Charley Culberson - journeyman utility player. Not a bad giveaway for a championship.

Keury Mella - Two years since the trade, and he is in AA. He looks OK, but he isn't kicking any doors in.

Heath Hembree - Dime a dozen middle reliever

Edwin Escobar - I believe he is out of affiliated ball at this point.

Lucius Fox - He MIGHT turn into something special. He might also completely fail. He is still at least 3-4 years away, BCS.

So where are all these franchise changing players that have been dealt?

Meanwhile, unknowns such as Panik, Blach, Duffy and Crawford have all come up through this trade-depleted farm system. Who are next unknowns who will become all stars? Arroyo? Beede? Shaw?
