Big pick up for ND.

247Sports national analyst Steve Wiltfong had great things to say about the explosive athlete and shared his thoughts here.
"Isaiah McKenzie will have a chance to return the opening kick for Notre Dame next year. He's that explosive and Notre Dame doesn't have a player with his skills on the current roster. He's a true football player and he'll bring toughness to the Notre Dame football program."

I mentioned it in the gameday thread because he committed at the end of the game.

He is small, but super athletic so who cares if he can find a role and fill that role well. Plus he plays at a powerhouse program in Florida American Heritage so landing a few kids from that school to open a pipeline is huge.

He is a talent for sure, if he were about 3 inches taller and 20 lbs heavier he would have more buzz around him. Plus if they can start getting talent from American Heritage it would be a great thing for Notre Dame in recruiting.

Just cause he is small, does not mean he can't play. Would love a nice small slot WR with speed....

It doesn't matter who we have at WR if we don't have a QB to throw them the ball.

I'm fairly certain Golson will be making a return and should be as good or better than the QB play this year.

Who knows how he will be after taking a whole year off. Most don't come back as sharp.

If we make it to a BCS game, Golson would be available to practice with the team. Do you think we should allow him to practice with the team. (if he wants to).

I would let him practice but not play, get him back into the swing of things for spring ball and the fall. He has been working with a QB coach this whole time, so hopefully that work will have kept him some what sharp, of course it isn't the same as game speed.

^ This ... nothing in practice compares to game speed. Let him sit.

to me it's more about getting back into the culture with his teammates than any real football gains.
