I don't see why they just don't go

Nunez R
Panik L
Posey R
Crawford L
Belt L

Pitcher

Belt is getting on base but not hitting his way on

Span has been terrible as a leadoff hitter, at least Nunez can run (I know, Noggin only has a brake pedal)

Panik is an almost ideal #2 hitter, he is not a #3, or a #8, or wherever else he's been.

If belt can't hit, but can get on, why have him AFTER the heart? That seems to be the player you want ahead of the heart...

But Span is a proven hitter. He's a professional. He'll find a way (or whatever).

Here is the thing about Belt right now - he has the highest slugging percentage of anyone in this lineup.

Nice to see Gorkys raise his batting average to .094. He's almost to .100!

Why did Gillaspie hit for Span? Is he injured too?

He ran into the outfield wall making a nice catch. So how would you rate the outfield the Giants are sending out tonight compared to the league with Span out. :L:gaah: "there's no tanking in Baseball" didn't Tom Hanks utter that line?

"There's no CRYING in baseball." Which we seem to be proving wrong with this horrible beginning with poor pitching, putrid hitting, and players who can't stay healthy. Ugh!

Wheels really coming off for Moore. They gotta keep him in there for 100 pitches. We aren't even going to score much less win in CO today. Save the pen.

I know it is early. But this really feels bad right now. Nothing going right. No-thing.

I was joking and paraphrasing the original quote.

With the draft from the results of next year not happening until about a year and half passes tanking is not a thing in baseball. It is a long term situation not a one year Tank and get lucky with a draft lottery.

I a man at home, but do not have the game on. I have interest in watching this heartless MASH unit pretend to play baseball.

That was a feeble inning at the plate. This is becoming unwatchable. Hey Bobby Evans, how about getting some hitters? Or at least some outfielders that can walk and chew gum without pulling a hammy?
With so many guys going down, what would be the point? Even the ones in reserve are getting hurt (Upton).

Where are you Jeff Francoeur? The people by the Bay turn their lonely eyes to you.

This.

I am not there yet, way to early, but this is starting to look like a punt year. Losing Bum (and all the "career" talk on the radio and twit-verse scares the living bejeesus out of me) is just something this team couldnt weather.

Through 7 innings, this tremendous lineup is hitting a collective .174/.167/.348

Every day, I have to admit, makes it harder to not throw away this season. Posey goes on the 7 day (but at least is back). Bumgarner gets injured (huge!). Pence and Span are banged up. The outfield hitting sucks so far. The starting rotation looks awful.

At least the infield is hitting decently and the bullpen has been looking a bit better. There are some signs of life. But the warning signs look pretty big.
