I thought that the 29th man was a thing for both games. Weird that they optioned Williams and then recalled him the same day. Almost like they hoped a spot would open for another pitcher for the 2nd game. Why else would they recall Vosler and option Williams only to call him back up for game #2?

My guess is they wanted Yunior as 29. When Cobb went down, Luke gets called back up.
