December 24, 1987 - Was the day when the best sports writer the Treasure Valley has ever seen was struck down by a cerebral hemorrhage while at work at The Idaho Statesman newspaper. That being Jim Poore. Those who are too young to not be aware of who Jim Poore was are lesser because of it. He was simply the very best sports writer in this area in his time.
