The entire night sucked. The 3 point shooters missed a bunch of shots and outside of one or two dunks, the dunk contest was really weak. Last year was a great show all around. This year was the exact opposite

What is really funny is that Reggie Miller kept talking up the guys who hit 19 and 20 early in the competition and comparing them to past contest scores.

They have an entire rack of money balls now! A score of 20 is comparable to 17 or 18 from the old format. 20 is solid, but it should put you on the round 1 bubble. It is not a winning score. At least it shouldn't be.

Pretty sure the field was always 8. You just could not see everyone shoot before.

It actually did go back to a bigger field. It was 6 competitors for quite a few years until a couple of years ago. I do think there should be a extra round if they're going to 8. Make the top 4 advance and turn that into the semi finals.

Yeah turn it into 3 rounds and make it the last event of the night. The dunk contest is hit or miss so it no longer deserves to be the last event.
