Hey Sid...when will you score a goal again. Malkin is taking his game up a notch...thankfully. You seem to be fading even though you've taken the most shots in games this year, this month.

Pens still rolling . Gotta love it!

Sid's been outstanding lately. The puck hasn't gone in, but he's flying, controlling the puck, really meshing with his wingers. He's been dynamic. And he's been good in his own end. There's nothing more to ask of him.

This is from before last night's game, in which Philly took them behind the woodshed and beat their ass.

Pretty stupid travel schedule. Complete a 5 day four game swing through western Canada, and for good measure they send them to the armpit of the east coast when they get back from Canada. :tsk:

Oh well. They got 7 out of a possible 10 points from the road trip. Considering they're missing a third of the lineup which hoisted the cup in June, I'd say that's not too shabby.

Always hate to see a loss to the Flyers, but after that road trip, a let down game was neither surprising nor alarming. Overall, they did what they needed to do on the trip.

They did a lot of good on the trip. Unfortunately, the injuries are continuing to pile up. Hainsey left last night's game with an apparent hand injury. If it's broken, well, he won't be back anytime soon. I have read that Maatta, Rust and Hornqvist are skating on their own. Maatta is probably getting pretty close since his hand was broken, last month, and he has been able to keep his legs in shape during the time on IR. Also heard that Letang is progressing (this should make Scouty very happy :heh:).

Overall, this team has a very different feel compared to what they were doing together at this point last season. Winning in the post-season really has a lot to do with who is the healthiest. The way this current crop is trending looks like they are not going to enjoy the same injury luck that last seasons team had.

They should get a lot of guys back just before or right at the start of the playoffs, though, so hopefully that feel changes a bit in the direction of what it was last season. Even with the injuries, the team looks pretty good, because JR has given us pretty darned good depth.
