Odd seems our schedule was not so "easy" during our elite 90's......

I see 1 top 10 team and 1 top 20 team before bowl season...what am I missing? Obviously we don't know what will happen in the next few years, but OSU, Michigan, OU and Wisconsin would currently be 4 top 10 teams.

Colorado finished 3rd and Miami finished 6, were both top 10.......K-State finished 19th Still wouldnt call that easy.

Top 10 right now..... after 2 games.............

This whole argument started because I said that your use of TOs quote to justify lining up a difficult schedule doesn't make sense. Losing does not help get Nebraska back to elite. We rarely played this difficult of a schedule when we were elite. Claiming otherwise is the CFB equivalent of talking about walking to school uphill both ways in a blizzard back in the day.

Be thankful Nebraska hasn't been in the SEC for the last 15 years. Getting bowl eligible (6-6) even a handful of times would have been tasking.

Oak is just fine boasting about barely beating the likes of Illinois, Minnesota, Northwestern, Purdue, Indiana, and occasionally losing to them.

I hope he's in the minority of the fan base.

While 9, 10, and 11 win seasons, regardless of who you beat looks good on paper I get the sense that most elite recruits want to go to schools where they will constantly play against and beat top tier teams consistently.

The past few years Wisconsin has been better than 19th and OSU has consistently been top 5, so there's your two ranked teams from 94. Now add on another top 10 team and a Michigan team that has been top 10ish since Harbaugh took over. I can't believe this is even a discussion.
