Carson Palmer, Darren McFadden headline 2019 College Football Hall of Fame ballot

The National Football Foundation on Monday released its 2019 College Football Hall of Fame ballot, including 76 FBS players and six coaches.

The 2019 class will officially be inducted during the 62nd NFF Annual Awards Dinner on Dec. 10, 2019 and permanently enshrined at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta later that December.

Headliners of the 2019 ballot include USC quarterback Carson Palmer, Colorado running back back Rashaan Salaam, Arkansas running back Darren McFadden, Wisconsin offensive lineman Joe Thomas and Texas quarterback Vince Young. Former Miami coach Dennis Erickson headlines coaches who are eligible for the first time.

For players to be eligible for the Hall of Fame, they must be removed from the college game for at least 10 years, not be currently playing professionally and have received first-team All-America recognition by a selector used by the NCAA to determine consensus All-American status.

Coaches become eligible after three full seasons after retirement if they're at least 70 years of age. Active coaches become eligible at 75 years old. They must have been a head coach for at least 10 years, coached at least 100 games and secured .600 winning percentage.

None of the coaches should get in. Erickson is the closest and he should not get in.

I actually watched all the players on the list play in college, except Jim Otis. Only saw him in the NFL.

My FOR SURES are
Iowa Dallas Clark
Miami Ray Lewis
SMU Eric Dickerson
Texas Vince Young

Other Players I think that should go in
FSU Terrell Buckley
Ohio State Keith Byars
Michigan Jumbo Elliot
California Tony Gonzalez
Arkansas Dan Hampton
Pittsburg Craig Heyward
Nebraska Larry Jacobson
USC Troy Palumalu
Indiana Antwaan Randle-El
Tennesee Al Wilson

I think I left off all of the Heisman winners.

I don't know about the coaches. Larry Blakeney from Troy

Iowa's Robert Gallery was a bigger name in CFB that Dallas Clark was. Both won awards. Unless there are 20 that get inducted, I don't see either one getting in.

I am on the fence with Dickerson. On the field and personality, yes. I also think he had a hand on rebuilding SMU when they decided to get football back. But he was part of the problem they got the death penalty. He doesn't deny getting paid, just won't say how much or how they paid him. NCAA has proven that he did get paid.

Corey Moore was a great DE for Virginia Tech, helping to lead the team to a NC appearance. Being "undersized" for the position, he was quick off the snap and could bend with the best DEs. Doubtful he'll make the CFB HOF with so many other deserving on the ballot, but he's the best Dlineman that VT has had since Bruce Smith and deserving of the accolades.

Agree. Raiders moved him to G and just couldn't adjust. He started off good for Seattle but got injured or something. But he was the biggest name on Iowa, and Iowa was loaded at that time.

Kevin Faulk for LSU is in the mix, dude was an incredible talent, just had the misfortune of being part of the worst time in LSU’s football history.
