The 2017 Confed Cup is underway and 2 goals were overturned today. The first one in the Portugal/Mexico game was a pretty easy call to make but this one in the Chile/Cameroon game was something else.

Thoughts?

The one you pictured is borderline. I've seen it called both ways, kind of depends on yout viewing angle, generally if there is no "daylight", they don't call it.

As for VAR, it's in some growing pains now, which is why it's being used in the ConFed Cup and other leagues now, to iron out the kinks so to speak. Remember how the NFL struggled with it at first too, then tweaked it.

IMO it should only be used for obvious missed offside calls, and maybe to review if in fact a player deserves a red card. If it's a judgement call (i.e 50/50), let the refs call stand.
