WR recruiting has been truly night and day difference since Bush took over. Look at the length and quality he's bringing in. He's getting the job done for sure. Our QBs will never lack an arsenal of targets for the pass game with how coach Hamdan is doing his job.

247 has UW's Jacob Sirmon listed as a 5* but Scout list him as a 4* on here.

I think 24/7 is the best in the industry with its individual and composite rankings. But I always put less weight in the rankings till their senior seasons are completed. Some of them are such gifted athletes and been playmakers through HS, they deserve a lot of it. Many of the 4 and 5 stars get those ratings for a good reason. But some of them are also projects who got late starts to playing the game and will easily redshirt and may not see any real play time till their sophomore year.

Strength and conditioning once they get on campus as freshman is a big key as well. Many might have the height coming out of HS, but still got to hit the gym hard to get their frames built for the college game.

Players like Jacob and Austin have already done a lot to deserve those ratings. But let's see how their senior seasons go.

Bothell’s Jacob Sirmon getting a head start as Huskies’ quarterback of the future
Should have posted this last week, but I've been swamped at work.

Sirmon is visiting the campus at least once a week during this dead recruiting window and working directly with both Petersen and Smith on breaking down film and learning the Huskies playbook. He's on track to graduate early and join the team well before next spring.

He's flattered by all of the attention and offers from so many of the top programs in the country, but is entirely focused on being a Husky. He even went out to dinner with Austin Osborne and his family taking on an active role in recruiting. Osborne verbally committed the next day.

Jacob is also active in 2 summer 7 on 7 leagues and did a tournament 7 on 7 last weekend in Vegas.

Kid is a total QB football junkie that just might end up being the second straight (and only second ever) starting true freshman QB for UW depending on whether or not Browning stays for his senior season.

WATCH: LSU QB target Jacob Sirmon
Couple of looks at Sirmon at the elite 7 on 7 finals last weekend. lol@ cbs for calling him a LSU QB target instead of a UW commit. Stroking them some SEC egos for sure.

Still, Sirmon has a cannon for an arm and you can see a few deep balls on that youtube vid.

Oh it was on purpose which is what makes it so 'funny'.

Sirmon committed to the Huskies in December 2015, but he has kept his ear open to other schools as they continue to make their pitch.

And when you read the article by Jude, you see something a bit different.

Since his announcing his commitment to the Huskies 14 months ago, Sirmon has been recruited by the likes Alabama, Michigan, UCLA, LSU, Louisville and others. He’s flattered by the attention, but says he has not been tempted by any other offer.

“The recruiting process is a business, and so as a staff it’s their job to recruit the best players they can find. So some of these college staffs believe that can be found in me,” he said. “The way I treat it: I’m respectful to everyone; I value every college’s interest and their offer, but my decision still stands. I feel at home at Washington, and the reasons I committed there are all still the same: Coach Pete and that staff is the right fit for me, and so as far as the recruiting side of things nothing’s changed.”

East coast/SEC bias for sure.

I debated even adding that link, but thought everyone would get a good laugh or at least an eye roll at that description. They must feel pretty confident he's not going to stay with UW and will end up flipping. Never mind that his dad is an associate professor at UW's business school or that he grew up a UW fan. He's not a UW commit to those national jackasses, he's a LSU target. Just laughable at how bad that is.

Looks like Kardashian U. is going to have to continue to look elsewhere for a QB flip. Sirmons are gonna be rocking the purple and golds on both sides of the ball for years.

When you get a chance could you provide some links? I don't get a whole lot of news in Jersey so I would love to read how recruiting is going.

I think it's time to "bump this up" and let the gossip start, though its not February yet lets see what the staff does:

As of today this is what's listed as "Commits" per Scout

Jacob Sirmon - Bothell Wa 4* - Pro Style QB #4th in the nation
Colson Yankoff - Core d Alene ID 4*- dual QB # 6th in the nation
Marquis Spiker - Murrieta CA 4* - 6'3" WR #20th in the nation
Austin Osborne- Mission Viejo CA 4*- another 6'3" WR #37th in the nation
Trey Lowe - Portland OR 4* - RB/ATH #5th in the nation

Matteo Mele- Tucson AZ 3*- OT 31st in the nation
Devin Culp - Spokane WA 3* -6'5" WR #72nd in the nation
Dracco Bynum- Wilsonville OR 3*- DE #17th in the nation
Jack Sirmon- Brentwood TN 3* -OLB #32nd in the nation
Victor Gurne - Houston TX 3* OG #27th in the nation
MJ Ale - Fife WA 3* OT #79th in the nation
Dominique Hampton- Peoria AZ 3* DB 6'2" 101st in the nation

The ranking in the nation is by position not over all ( I think that is a scam, OLmen get lower ratings)

Again subject to change or they sign their names on the piece of paper.....

So far that is three out of the top 10 in state so far. (granted in state has lost some luster now a days)

But as a whole the state of Washington doesn't have big time recruits this year only 3 4* per scout.

Looks like a flip is eminent from Puyallup DE Mosiah Liu who has decommitted from Utah and appears to be ready to accept the offer made a couple of days ago by UW. He is LDS which makes the flip that much more impressive, but isn't planning on taking his mission until after college.

Breaking: Mosiah Liu Decommits from Utah
