Is the trade something you actually did with the GB rep or something you are proposing the Pats do? If the latter, why would each team want that? If the former, who did the GB rep draft?

Thanks

Trading down 6 spots at that point and and recouping a 4 and a 5 when the Pats have no picks in those rounds is a good move (+45 on the traditional pick value chart). Caliber of player between 31 and 37 should be about the same, only disadvantage would be losing the 5th year option on the rookie contract.

I was in my car and couldn't get my draft list out and analyze so I took the trade. He took Calvin Riley WR

See I would reverse those. I think Falk is one of the worst QB's in this draft and should go undrafted. Hurst if everything checks out medically is a very big steal at that point in the draft.

There's also one going on in the DCFFL forum that cheerupcharlie and I are co-GM'ing the Pats if you're interested.

DCFFL

I like it...I like the Evans pick at 23 and the Oliver pick at 31...just secured the LB spot and CB spot for 5 yrs. The only thing I would have done diff is in RD2 and I would have gone Ronnie Harrison over Hurst at this point. He can play that S/LB role and would replace Richards immediately. I like the pick at OT at the end of RD2, but for me, OT is not going to be addressed this yr....that's just my opinion, but have no issues if they do address OT.

Well I am not of the mind set we need a DT, and I have not heard anything about the old ticker but he would be a steal that late and it's not unlike the Pats to take best player avail.

As for Falk you may be right when I consider where he was taken. Laulutta or Mike White might be available there hell at 63 Mason Rudolph could be there and I like that kid. I did a mock where the Pats take two QBs this year in that scenario they could afford a risky guy.

Harrison was definitely a strong consideration at 43 but given the obvious looming need for a post-Gronk TE and the Muschamp connection, we felt like Hurst was too BB a pick not to make.

The Crosby pick was more with the future in mind, really...I wouldn't expect him to start or play much more than the run game 3rd TE role this year. I just feel like you put hm with Scar, though, and he'll be a monster somewhere on this line for many years. The OT's we have now all have question marks and Shaq is a FA after this year and Thuney the year after that. We had also tried to trade down from that spot before picking Crosby but had no takers.

Some team is going to take a chance on Hurst. I think #43 is early but, who knows?
I think a lot depends on that medical clearance but the Pats can afford to let him sit a year with Valentine coming back and the signing of Shelton

We took a 1st round talent with a major medical red flag at 42 a few years back, worked out alright.
