Nathan For You got screwed in the comedy department. Halt and Catch Fire should have gotten some drama nominations. Noah Emmerich and Holly Taylor both got screwed out of noms for their work on The Americans. It's also fucking ridiculous SNL gets so many nominations, especially when it largely sucked this year. Just shows how lazy they are and do things on name recognition. ACS: Versace definitely doesn't deserve the Limited Series noms either. All of those should have gone to The Terror.
Halt and Catch Fire definitely deserves a nomination for that final season. Dammit that was good.

Guest Actor in a Drama Series
Cameron Britton (Mindhunter)

I hope this guy wins, he stole every scene he was in. Mindhunter as a whole is an underrated show.

If you guys haven't watched Barry go watch it now. Atlanta and Silicon Valley are real good, but Barry was the better show this season.

Very good show and Hader is excellent as is much of the supporting cast. My only problem with that show, and I'm apparently in the minority as he received a nomination, is Henry Winkler. The show just takes a bad turn for me whenever he's on screen. He's just a lousy actor in pretty much everything I've ever seen him in and will always be The Fonz to me, which itself was just a silly charicature.

I think he was essentially a caricature of the Fonz in Arrested Development, which was so smart when they fired him and brought in Bob Loblaw...essentially being replaced by Scott Baio again.

Lots of those shows I’ve yet to see.

Not a dig at Millie Brown because she was very good in season 2 of Stranger Things. But Noah (Will) was by far the best kid actor this season. Without his performance, this latest season could have really been cheesy. But he killed it.

Harbour has a completely different arc this year and did a great job as well.

I'm sure that Noah Emmerich will sleep fine either way but God did he ever deserve this. I'm really disappointed.

I liked Stranger Things Season 2 but not for the acting.

Surprised to see F451. Wasted potential imo.

John Oliver and Jimmy Kimmel have been better than the others.

I would have liked to see Taylor Kitsch (or Michael Shannon even) get acknowledged for "Waco". I thought he did a remarkable job.

Did you like that series overall? I started the thread for it, but never watched an episode. Got busy, I’m sure you know how it goes.

I liked it quite a bit, yes. It's worth your time I think.

Yea they screwed it up big time. Some changes were welcome but they straight up ruined the source material. No wife or neighbor girl? Changing the ending for the worse. It was a big fat bummer.

Watched Maisel over the weekend based off the comments. I know I've seen it every time I sign in and heard it mentioned a time or two before, but just looking at the picture for it, I envisioned a madmen type show I didn't care to watch. Still went into it having know idea what it was about. Knocked it out this weekend and was disappointed when it was over after 8 episodes.

It had great visuals and great actors. It should've worked but it was a bit of a mess.

Coming back to "The Americans" I've got a couple more beefs that I'll share.

This is a show that is full of remarkable performances, from the leads right down to the one time guests. Some of that is of course to the credit of the actors themselves, some of it is probably the casting people as well, but I can't help but think that the directing (I guess Chris Long specifically) is a big part of that. They even get good work out of Henry, but no nomination.

The second beef? I just found out that there is apparently an Emmy for Outstanding Music Supervision. How on earth have they avoided "The Americans"? The music in this season's premiere (the submitted episode as I understand it) was all but perfect, with no recognition at all.

I think Conan O'Brien is usually the best late night guy, but maybe he hasn't been political enough.

yea, that definitely was a disappointment but I guess they didn't really know what kind of reception it was going to get. Looking forward to the next season.
