33 Days Away!

Season is right around the corner: LSU opens with Notre Dame and has a huge series vs Texas the following week. Great to see some big non-conference match-ups to open the season.

dbu still good?
Lost a ton this year. Hard to really say. Lot of young talent but we lost a few pitchers, feels like the first time in a while we have to replace more than 1 starting pitcher. We aren’t going to have Florida’s pitching that’s for sure.

Looks like the SEC & ACC are the most predominant representatives in the pre-season Top 25:

The SEC has two teams in the top 5, 5 in the top 10, 7 in the top 15, & 8 in the top 20.

The ACC has one in the top 5, two in the top 10, 3 in the top 15, 4 in the top 20, & 5 in the top 25.

The Big 12 has one team in the top 5, two in the top 10, and 4 in the top 25.

The Pac-12 has one in the top 5, and 3 in the top 15.

The Big West, MVC and Sun Belt each have one team in the top 20; the Big 10 and American Athletic each has one in the top 25.

No other conferences have ranked teams at this time.

Week 2 should be some excellent baseball with Clemson hosting Dallas Baptist and LSU hosting Texas.

QUOTING PAUL MAINIERI
“There is nothing quite like the feeling of Opening Day in our stadium in front of our passionate fans. Every year, the anxiety of not knowing what the new season holds keeps me young. In the preseason polls we are rated anywhere between No. 9 and No. 17, but we realize you earn what you get on the field, not on paper. I think there’s a wide range of what people might think about our team this year because of the newness of our team, but our expectation will be, as it always is at LSU, to have our team in position to play for championships at the end of the year.”
