2017 Suicide League Discussion

Since we have multiple dynasty leagues going on, and some owners are in both dynasty leagues, was just wondering if we will be having our annual Suicide draft?

D1 will be drafting on Monday May 8:

The clock will officially start 8 am, Monday, May 8th. Pick #1, and any following picks can be made at anytime, but the clock doesn't start until Monday, May 8th

My guess is that D2 will be around that same general date (which is fine with me).

Historically we have had the Suicide draft about 2 weeks after the NFL draft.
In 2016 it started on May 11 and ran for 10 days.

I hope that everyone who is eligible will return to both A & B leagues? I think this is competitive, good group and would like nothing better than to see everyone back.

Last year it started as soon as the dynasty drafts were over. I figure it will be the same this year.

Bandit is in for suicide. I'm giving up my coma spot though. That league is way too dependent on getting a quarterback that actually plays each week.

Not a big deal, and I don't mind doing it - but this why I asked. .....From our Constitution and Bylaws:

I. Commissioner and Vice-Commissioner: (amended for 2017 and beyond)
i. The MBBRL will have a commissioner and a vice-commissioner. The commissioner will be in charge of the A league (Keeper of the Flame) the B league (Barbarians at the Gate) and the C league (when it is formed) with the vice-commissioner serving in a support capacity to help the commissioner out. All other MBBRL leagues will run independently with their own commissioners.

I guess my main concern was whether the suicide draft would conflict with the dynasty drafts being discussed.

Technically that is true, because the Suicide and Coma B leagues have always had a different commissioner (milk). I really didn't know that Treff was the commish of the Suicide and Coma A leagues, but I guess that makes sense. It doesn't really matter as there aren't really any commissioner duties other than inputting the rosters and starting the draft. I guess it's really up to Lefty and Treff if Treff wants to transfer the commissioner duties to Lefty for those two leagues or not since they are independent of the main league. I'm quite certain that nobody else will care.

Lol.. he'll I just assumed it was an all or nothing deal... still waiting for the great @wilwhite to transfer comish authority for KOTF and BATG...i have no problems getting the A suicide and coma going and continuing that "duty"... pretty sure @MilkSpiller22 is still the lead guy for B?

Just a suggestion.
I was pretty happy with Fantrax's ability to have a SLOW draft for D2.
What if we moved the Suicide draft/league to Fantrax?
Of course we will lose the ESPN history.
Then the commish won't need to input the players.

Can we save the history? Maybe put the previous years title games in the notes or someplace on the homepage.
