My only point in this wasn't to rip black America rather to say it's up to black America to fix the problems they are facing, whitey isn't gonna do it.

Malcolm was racist but I can tell you that what I've read he began to see the errors in that type of thinking... as for family use it's just an example of personal affirmation... my wife helped be the person I always was but was scared to be... I should be in jail right now, my little brother just got out last month after 16 years for bank robbery when he was 18... my older was worse than both of us... my sisters have different "baby daddies" my youngest brother is a druggie living in garages... there isn't a question in my mind that poverty has a hand in all of that, not slavery nor super thug lifestyle... I feel with more options and better opportunities my personal family would be in a much better situation... but that's not reality... until something changes in terms of economic reform I fear that we will continue to deal with the same BS with only a few handfuls that escape while the vast majority continue to struggle...

Poverty fucking blows and in no question is the biggest contributor to crime and violence no matter what color you are!
