Was looking at the draft order to see where my Wizards were, then I remembered they gave away their first for Bojan.

Lakers guards D'Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson cannot fill that role. That's not a knock against their talent. They could theoretically play point guard for a competitive team in a pinch, but long term, they are instant-offense type players best suited to play off the ball and shoot.

Former UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball seems like the best fit to lead the Laker offense. He and future Hall of Famer Jason Kidd are being compared by numerous outlets, including DraftExpress and Slam. The comparisons make sense, as they are both smooth, pass-first point guards.

If Ball has anywhere close to the career that the 10-time All-Star point guard enjoyed, then the Lakers will have hit the jackpot

Markelle Fultz: Boston Celtics

According to Spotrac, Celtics starting guards Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley will be unrestricted free agents following the 2017-18 season, while backup guard Marcus Smart will be a restricted free agent.

It's impossible to see the Celtics retaining all three players, especially when the best prospect in the draft, Markelle Fultz, can play both point guard and shooting guar

Latest rumours have Philly trying to sell or trade picks #46 and 50. They've got four picks in round two so it makes sense.

Personally I have never understood why any teams considers picks that late to be worth trading for - they seldom turn out to be worth much any way in my opinion

Jordan Clarkson was the 46th pick, and he was bought off Washington for $1m. Not too bad for a guy averaging over 14ppg for the last three years.

No reason to believe another solid bench player couldn't be found.

Kind of unlikely but not impossible from what I have seen. 46th is not the absolute bottom. Have you ever seen a 60th - hang in there?

Isaiah Thomas. Did you watch the NBA this year? They only mentioned it like twice every Celtics game as he balled out.

LOL. Yes.

Like @wildturkey said, Isaiah Thomas. There have been others too. Ginobli was 57, Millsap 47, Antonio Davis 45. It is rare, but it happens.

The other positive about 2nd round picks is that the contracts are not fully guaranteed. If a player isn't good enough, the team can waive them before the regular season roster deadline. Can't do that with a first rounder.
