OSU was 6-7 because Fickell either isn't a good head coach or wasn't ready. In the four seasons going into 2011 OSU was 44-8. The 4 seasons after 2011 OSU went 50-4. The OSU recruiting classes from 09, 10, 11 and 12 ranked #5, #18, #6 and #5. Going into 2015 Harbaugh had the #6, #4, #20 and #37 ranked classes to work with....and a good number of kids from the 4 and 6 ranked classes were already gone. Don't try and kid yourself and think Urban taking over the 2012 team was anything like what Harbaugh took over at Michigan. Urban took over a totally healthy program. Harbaugh took over a broken program with some pieces to work with.

Harbaugh isn't on Urban's level yet. It's just that simple. But it's impossible to argue he isn't a good coach based on his accomplishments. He's flipped around every program he's coached at and if we give him some time, he'll start winning the most important games that have eluded us since 2006.

Nobody has ever said JH isn't a good HC, including myself (he's not an elite HC though). But too many of you meeeechegan fans truly think he's already an elite CFB coach without a complete CFB coaching resume. He hasn't won anything. Now name another coach in any sport that's won nothing yet is called 1 of the elite coaches. Also stop pretending ann arbor has ever had a problem w/ recruiting. The players haven't been the problem before Jimmy Jam's return, the coaches were the problem. Otherwise JH wouldn't have taken Hoke's recruits & doubled the win total his 1st year.

I think Jim Harbaugh is one of only a few coaches who could walk into any program and turn it around in 4-ish years. And by that metric, he's one of the best coaching minds currently out there. To your point, his resume simply does not match, or even come close, to other coaches in that realm like Urban or Saban.

How has he turned UofM around though through nearly 3 years? Has he even beaten a team this year w/ a winning record? No. Has a losing record against his rivals. No division titles, no conference crowns, doesn't have multiple big time bowl W's & of course doesn't have a Natty. What I just mentioned is how I judge a coaches career. Here's my current Mt. Rushmore of great coaches that have complete CFB coaching resumes. Saban, Meyer, Sweeney & Fisher. Sorry but JH can't even be mentioned in the same sentence w/ those 4 HC's right now.

Now they are 7-4, eliminated from the conference race and praying to beat a struggling UNC team to avoid getting shipped to Shreveport for the holidays.
