Ranger fans,

Is Dyson salvageable, or has just completely lost it?

Just take a bow.

There are some players who could dispute that claim.

Mark Whiten had 12 RBI's in his 4 HR game, to tie 2 MLB records in the same game.
Shawn Green had 6 hits and 19 total bases in his 4 HR game.

Just to name a couple who also hit 4 homers in a game.

Baseball is so unpredictable. The 2 teams who made the WS last year are 30-29 and 30-31. Both teams were expected to be really good and win their division running away.

Two weeks left to vote for the All Star Game. The vote updates are showing signs of encouragement. I think the fans are doing a pretty good job so far. The only votes that I would complain about are Heyward and Brantley. I'm hoping Ozuna and Betts could catch them. Really stupid that you have to write-in Hicks and Conforto too. Both deserve some votes.

You know the fans are paying attention this year when Yonder Alonso is close to overtaking Miguel Cabrera to start 1st base.

AL update is today

Latest AL update: Alonso passed Cabrera, Correa passed Lindor, and Springer passed Brantley. All good things.

Baseball fans are smarter than basketball fans
Baseball has had some pretty shitty voting over the last couple years, which is why I'm impressed with the vote tally so far.

I voted once already, and I'll vote again multiple times on the final day. For the AL, the only difference I had was Dickerson over Cruz and Hicks (who I had to write-in) over Springer. The NL I had a few differences. Josh Harrison is having a really good year so I voted him for 2nd, but understandably he has only played about half the year there. So no problem with Murphy getting it. I did vote for Arenado over Bryant, but they're 1 and 1a really, plus defense is hard to gauge. Voted for Goldschmidt, and wrote in Conforto instead of Zimmerman and Heyward.

Kind of puzzling how Moustakas isn't getting more votes at 3B. Were it not for Sano he'd be pretty clearly be having the best season at 3B in the AL.

Well I think fans do one of 3 things:
1. Do the research and vote for the best player this year (Sano)
2. Vote for the stars they know (Machado/Donaldson)
3. Vote for the players on their team (Indians and Astros fans seem to be present the most this year, it varies year to year)

So while I agree that Moustakas has been the 2nd best 3rd basemen, he doesn't fit any of those 3 categories at this point.

I'm just amazed Alonso's gotten as much support as he has.

To me, that would be one of the more impressive votes I've seen in any all-star game in any sport.

All the current starters are deserved all-stars except for Heyward.
