When you come within a single of the cycle...

Nice power display in the win. 6 homers, with Buxton's being an inside-the-parker.

Berrios needs to learn to put batters away

He was 1 strike away from an 11 pitch 1st inning.

No hits, no runs....but he ended up throwing 22 pitches.

He's gotta trust his stuff

Got Grienke pitch count up too.

Bad news is we failed to score because Rosario can't have discipline when everyone knows Grienke can't find the zone

You can't make this shit up.

Dozier is not a winner. Never will be.

He kinda pissed me off today in the 4th. 2 outs, and they'd already homered twice. That weak grounder that he sat back on to extend the inning.... with Colon on the mound... :tsk: Can't do that. I was half expecting the wheels to come off from that.

I pray i'm wrong but I don't think Buxton will ever hit above .250 and if he could get his OBP up to about .330 that would probably be enough to keep him around because of his base running and defensive greatness.
He's hitting .350 since July 1. Can't recall what he hit 2nd half last year.... if he can just get started earlier, he's all set.

Only 23. The power can still come.

So now that we know Slegers is at the very least not gonna be a worse sinker ball option then Gibson.

Can we make the replacement official?

I hope for common sense sake he was only sent down because he was the 26th man

He was. These double headers are messing with the rotation.

Crazy... they've used 40ish roster players. Not sure how many different starting pitchers, AND 11 different players have made their MLB debuts this year.

Dozier had some great ABs the past couple days.

Just drives me nuts with his clutch situational hitting.

He's a fly ball on command hitter, until a guy is on third and you need the sac fly. Then he chops down on the ball for a grounder inexplicably.

He upper cuts pop ups on hit and runs. It's crazy.

But he's been pretty dialed in this month overall

I hope i'm wrong but I bet i'm not... He has 15 less extra base hits this year than he did last year in 18 more at bats. He has lowered his strikeout rate a little but he's still striking out one of every three at bats.

Well, they did change his swing for more contact, but it could also be coupled with defenses shifting on him now.

3 of 5 is not acceptable we need 4 of them!

We've got Gee, some random AAA guy not named Gonsalves and Gibson pitching the first 3.

That means we have to win 2 of those before worrying about which Santana and Berrios show up.

3-2 at least keeps us where we are at

Team is fighting for their lives in a playoff race.

We enter battle against the worst team in the league pitching Tim fucking Melville and batting Chris goddamn Gimenez 5th.

I just pray one day we will have competent decision makers
