I disagree. The same knucklehead me-first guys have always been there. And there are plenty of humble players with their heads on straight out there.

Some teams put up with them because they had crazy talent, like the old school Cowboys and Giants. Others didn't, like the dynasty Steelers up through Cowher, and Patriots.
There were always some but nowadays it seems like most.

Hmmm. Thought we would see D-Will back in the fold.

Still got plenty of time. Nothing new to this.

they let him go, brought in davis, not surprised they let older guys walk
Well yea I know that, but I'm not convinced Davis is an upgrade over D-Will. Williams was a stud and he didn't show any signs of slowing down either. Also the top rated pass blocking RB in the league for a few years with us.

True. Can't imagine he is commanding top dollar for a backup. He knows his role, and he knows he's at the end of his career. Doubt he would have much of a problem with playing for the league minimum.

Maybe that's Colbert's plan though. See how the draft falls and if the RB they want doesn't come to them then D-Will could be resigned for cheap.

Doesn't seem like D-Will has been in contact with the team. Doesn't bode well for his future in the Burgh.

Get some eyes on these results @Bridgeburner @ATL96Steeler .... Davis killed it as his pro day.

Davis, 22, was the star of the day, running a personal-best 4.56 seconds in the 40-yard dash, had a vertical leap of 38.5 inches and a standing broad jump of 10 feet, 9 inches.

Jarrad Davis, Marcus Maye make up for lost time at UF Pro Day

Just for a quick-glance comparison with Timmons' best pre-draft workout results... Timmons ran a 4.66 40-yard dash, and recorded a 35'' vertical leap. Granted he was reportedly "out of shape" during his combine.

lets get em, wheres he projected to go
2nd-3rd Rds. After that pro-day there's no way he falls out of the 2nd. 3rd rated ILB behind Foster & McMillan.

Said it in BB's mock thread, but I'll say it again about this kid Jerrad Davis.... He's a gifted athlete, blue-collar leader & has an incredible work ethic. For those of us screaming for Tomlin to draft more like Cowher did, then this is the prospect. This kid is destined to be a pro's pro. Reminds me a lot of Timmons. He'd push for the starting job this year.
