I agree that there is no need to bring in a veteran position player that would take ABs away from younger players. Kendricks would/could act as a backstop at several positions, while not "owning" one. Which of course is not a good selling point to get him to sign a short contract....to a team headed for the cellar. You may be right, that money be better spent on pitching....but I fear the Pelfrey!

If you can toss HK a couple extra mil and then send him on his way in July, it's worth it.

Prolly would need to give him the second base job to get him here though.


Not like Dixon Machado is waiting to blossom or anything...

Yeah, what's up with that? Lost to tOSU and UoM and Rutgers gave them all they could handle.

I was at the Rutgers game - it was kind of exciting, but if I were a Sparty fan, I would not have enjoyed watching that.

Did not see the Rutgers game.

MSU had 18 turnovers in the Michigan game. Give UM some credit, but most of the turnovers were unforced.

Kendrick would be a nice addition, but I have my doubts he would sign with a last place team, unless he is paid for it.

Given HK's age and injury problems last year (91 games played), I'd rather tolerate Machado for a season or two and save the money. I don't feel he'll get us much of a haul in July.

Given HK's age and injury problems last year (91 games played), I'd rather tolerate Machado for a season or two and save the money. I don't feel he'll get us much of a haul in July.

I wonder if Detroit tries to sign Curtis Granderson if all other teams pass on him? He made $15mil last year. If he expects that, at age 37, and coming off a .212 avg year....he'll be sitting home. I'm wondering if he'd come back to Detroit for about a 1/3 of that and be a 4th outfielder? He can still hit a homerun every so often.
