Happened a few years back to Spurs when most other teams were playing lower division foes, they drew Leicester.

It happens. Supposedly the draws are random, though I have my doubts as some years teams like Arsenal, ManU etc seem to get easy roads to the finals, then other years are a guantlet of tough teams.

Also, instead of it being a conspiracy vs Everton, it could be one against Liverpool, plenty in the FA don't like them. I'm pretty sure a lot of Liverpool supporters were bitching that they have to play Everton (never an easy fixture for them) while the other "big" teams had lower division opponents.

True, Liverpool has the better record, but also it's never a gimme game, they usually have to work for it. Plus it might be a little too suspect if Liverpool were drawn against ManU, Man City, Chelsea, etc so early.

I didn't get to watch the game, but apparently there was plenty of VAR asshattery in the Spurs game yesterday. 2 disallowed Spurs goals in the first half and plenty of breaks in play. Sounds awful and embarrassing.
