Man City beat Newcastle, open 15-point lead

I don't understand the criticism of Newcastle tactics? They were in the game until the end. If Gayle's header slips inside that post at the end they get a point and then they getting praised. What are they supposed to do against big money Man City? All the weak sisters are doing this against the top teams. I saw Koln do the same to Bayern a few weeks ago and they almost got a result too.

Relegation race is very tight.

6 points separates 14th-20th in the table.

Terrible 3 games in the last week for Man U.

Unless they find a goal in stoppage time, it will be their 3rd straight draw

Thankfully the streak is over. Bayern keeps the record at 19 :) Jesus out for a couple months and De Bruyne hurt too. First adversity for Man City although it will have no effect on the EPL but we'll see how UCL goes.

Crazy last 10 minutes in that game. Palace blew a golden opportunity.

Arsenal-Chelsea tomorrow.

The EPL has played a lot of games during the Holidays. Most teams 5-6 in two weeks. As a fan I love to watch, but it is WAAAY to congested and too many fixtures in a short time.

Big win for Spurs in their race to keep pace with Liverpool (who just keep winning), Chelsea, and Man U.

Massive game for top 4 seeding tomorrow at The Emirates.

Yeah it is ridiculous. I don't mind playing games during the holidays but should be around 3 IMO.

I don't remember it being this bad before. When I lived in England (a little over 10 years ago) They had traditional Boxing Day fixtures, and on New Years.

Besides League games, you also have to add in FA Cup and League Cup fixtures. The FA should really rethink the congestion, it really hurts the EPL teams playing in the Champions League. Teams from Serie A, La Liga, and the Bundesliga come back rested over the winter/holiday break, while the EPL teams usually end up fatigued by FEB/March during the knockout stages. No coincidence that the English teams played well and even dominated in Europe when they didn't have all the winter matches.

The issue is they still try to play weekend matches even when boxing day falls early in the week. Next year, it shouldn't be all that bad if they're smart. Boxing day falls on a Wednesday so they can spread it out if they're smart but they're not.

I would breakdown the holiday fixtures like this next year.

Normal weekend games on Saturday/Sunday (12/22 & 12/23)
Boxing day fixtures- ALL TEAMS SHOULD PLAY
No games the weekend of 12/28,
New Year Day- ALL TEAMS PLAY

But knowing the EPL, they'll fuck up the schedule by having teams play the weekend of 12/28 which will make it once again make it 4 games for all teams in a 10 or 11 day period which is crazy

Everton finalizes deal for Cenk Tosun. Hope he's the striker we need. Funny. Following Everton I'm up on this, but in order to get an idea how big of a deal this really is, I checked other soccer/football sites and many have the signing buried, so I guess it isn't one really... Oh well, I'm happy we brought someone in.

Frustrating draw for Spurs.

Couldn't watch...damn work, but it looks like West Ham just parked the bus the entire game. 70% possession for Spurs, 28 shots to 3, 8 on goal to 1.

They remain in the hunt for a top 4 spot, but 3 points sure would have been better.

Not really, Adrian had some good saves. No doubt if Hart had been in, Spurs would've score at least 3-4.
