3-4 for the month...lost 4 of last 5. Teams getting worse. Shake up needed. Skid not performing again and he needs to every game. Fair or unfair, it's the way it is...

This team won't make the playoffs unless some severe things change. They are outplayed/lack hustle. Constant turnovers and out of place Dmen. Murray looks average. Flopping all over the place. Over playing shots and ending up out of net. Just a pathetic team right now.

Agreed. When your 4th line is the best line in a game that Crosby and Malkin play in, you're in trouble. I'm keep hoping this is just Cup fatigue and they'll shake it off in the second half of the season and make a run towards the playoffs. But it's really really looking like a run toward the playoffs run is less and less likely.

Arena employees overwhelmed by gesture from ownership

No matter where they finish in the standings this year the Pens are still the classiest organization in hockey. They gave Cup rings to all employees who work at Mellon Arena.

Leighton is 36. This looks like just adding vet backup goalie insurance for all the youngsters. Won't really matter unless Murray and Jarry both go down (touch wood).

So, I agree this doesn't help with their current problems!

Yeah no help except insurance but in the scheme of things no real loses either.
Oleksiak can help on defense and truly I think the Yotes trade not only was to get a veteran but also to free up the roster spot for that later deal.

Winnipeg Jets Make Shawn Matthias Available In Trade
Not sure they could swing the cap hit but if he stills plays center this is what they need.

Not buying it... Murray coughs up 4 goals and the Pens aren't going to get 5 goals a game...

They can't keep giving points to their opponents that are ahead of them in the standings. They won't make up ground that way...

Yeah if they come out and crap the bed against the Canes tomorrow we can stick a fork in this season.
In reality, in terms of talent, this team should be able to win/get points in the next 7 games. If not see above...
