Frankfurt looked good today. I thought they were the more attacking team. Today's game without Lewey and Muller in the striker role would prove Muller wrong they need a backup striker. Muller was invisible...so they need a backup striker. Still looks like it will be Wagner.

P.S. Leipzig and Dortmund gave away points again today. Bad
RB and Dortmund have had awful weeks between Bundesliga and CL. Dortmund has been in a downward spiral for a bit now. Think it just cost Bosz his job.

They hired the Cologne coach. Not sure why he got rewarded for the pitiful job at Cologne. Keeping the seat warm for Nagelsmann?

Pretty puzzling. Maybe they liked that he wears hoodies like Belichick.

Bayern played a snoozefest against lowly Koln. Took 'em over 60 minutes to score their only goal. A couple shanks and many shots over the cross bar. First half was so slow, Jepp made 2 substitutions at halftime.

Conceding in the 1st minute against a strong defensive side? Not.... Good...

Who knew Sven Ulreich would be Bayern's MVP this year.

Schalke here? What a goal at the end though to nab a point for Schalke. I was watching the Bayern game and Sven makes the big save on the last play and Fox switches over to the Schalke game right at the final shot. Back to back drama in a matter of minutes.

Aubameyang signs an extension with Dortmund...

Guess they're gonna "gut through it" with him, eh? :D

Heh, yeah once again I had to get in the car and travel and have my phone inform me that Schalke scored... Still cool...

I love to idea of Koln going down after their 'stellar' year last year.

A good, solid win this weekend for Gladbach. A bit of an uptick in performances and they might in the CL next year.

Good for the Bundesliga to keep him at Dortmund too. Seems Dortmund has found their game again in the last two outings. Pokal is Wednesday vs Bayern. Should be a good one.

Bayern slips by Dortmund just barely. Should have had 4 goals in the 1st half though. Not sure how they didn't score more early in the game. Then they play lazy in the 2nd half. Bayern now in the drivers seat for the Bundesliga and Pokal with having dispatched Dortmund and Leipzig themselves. Only the UCL left but they need to be more consistent if they expect to win that.

Good for the league that he's staying. Though now with an extension, they could sell him off but with a higher buyout.

On ESPN.com.. Gabriele Marcotti had a list of 30 things he'd like to see in the World of soccer/football/futbol in 2018... Marcotti's 30 wishes for football in 2018

#22 was one that I believe some brilliant individual attempted to make in this thread earlier, but was roundly chastised for doing so... ;)

Marcotti said:
22. That somebody figures out how unhealthy Bayern's hegemony is over the Bundesliga. Nabbing top performers from competing clubs in midseason (Sandro Wagner from Hoffenheim and Leon Goretzka from Schalke, who'll join in the summer) isn't normal. Nor is it normal that they do nothing to distance themselves from rumors linking them to Julian Nagelsmann, who happens to be in charge of a rival team right now.

The only way that happens is if one or more of the Bundesliga teams get PSG/Man City type owners.

Number 6 was more of a general statement on this:

6. That more folks wake up to the extreme polarization and income inequality in the game, which has been at unprecedented levels for a long time and is only getting worse. UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin says he has a plan. I have no idea what it might be, but it can't come too soon. I don't want to see a dozen super clubs running roughshod over the rest of the world.

Bayern isn't the only team in the World doing it. Man City could be the next Bayern in ECL the way they spend. You won't ever see a Leicester City again. But I agree the Bundesliga needs more teams that spend if number 6 above continues. Leipzig was supposed to be a big spender with all the Red Bull money. Owner said he would do anything to win the Bundesliga. Still for Bayern it is about UCL as they are competing with the Man Citys, PSGs, Real Madrids, Barcelonas, and Juventus' of the world not the Bundesliga.....for now.

You think Madrid misses James? Since he is on loan....can they pull him back. I hope not.

They could, unless Bayern had some sort of clause put into the deal. They did it with Morata when he was at Juve.
