I thought the 1st set, not much separated the two. Djokovic just lost points at the wrong time. I wouldn't even call them errors.

But in the 2nd set, even though Djokovic tried moving Del Potro around, Del Potro was just blasting shots.

I still wish his backhand was like it was in 2009. But he did get a good rip with that too. It's just that he mostly slices his backhand. Which I don't think is that good on hard courts.

Del Potro definitely went for his shot in the 2nd set.

Del Potro had t least 3-4 lucky net bounces too in the match, some of them at the wrong time for Djokovic.

I wish they went with a davis cup format in the olympics. Treating this like another individual event on the tennis schedule doesn't seem right. Since its all about country it should be something like davis cup with minor changes

It would be hard to do this, with a field of 64, in a 9 day event. They would need to make it a 2 week event I think, to be able to have that kind of format.

Del Potro beats Wawrinka and Djokovic at the last 2 tourneys he's played. He must be thinking, "Everything's coming up Millhouse!"

He has to win a tourney soon though for it to really come true.

It doesn't have to be the exact davis cup format but being eliminated on day 1 of the Olympics that only comes around every 4 years doesn't seem right to me. Just a format where you're not eliminated on day 1 would be healthy. I think each player should be allowed to play at least 2 matches IMO This is supposed to have a different feel than a masters 1000 event/grand slam event. Unfortunately it doesn't
