2016 Gavitt Games

Villanova at Purdue
Maryland at Georgetown
Rutgers at DePaul
St. John's at Minnesota
Providence at Ohio State
Wisconsin at Creighton

All in all not a terrible slate of games for what they had to work with. Nova/Purdue and Wisconsin/Creighton should be great games matching top 25 type teams. I think I would have preferred Seton Hall to play Ohio State and Providence to play Iowa as I think that would have made for a more equal match up. Then you have the dumpster fire games; Rutgers/DePaul and St. John's/Minnesota. That's a good job matching up shit on shit.

What are they too good to play against the Big East? I want a piece of Izzo.

I would also like to see Nova/Indiana. That'd be cool.

Yeah I would probably echo those sentiments now, back in April though my thoughts were of a St. John's team coming off a 1 win Big East campaign. lol.

I will say St. John's should be much improved this year, could be a decent win for the Gophers if they get it.

Yeah, the Johnnies are probably a year away from truly being dangerous but they will actually be a team you can't just expect to steam roll this year.

lol, it's all good. Just figured I'd bump the original thread I had when the match ups were announced to keep everything Gavitt Games related to this post.

But I definitely agree with you on both points in regards to SJU and Providence.

Iowa and Providence are both in the Emerald Coast classic next week along with UVA and Memphis so they may have been trying to avoid thosec2 teams playing twice in 9 days

He is. Not very often you have somebody that talented that sticks around for their red shirt senior season. He was vastly under recruited out of high school. Can't believe he ended up at Boston U before transferring to Creighton. He was in the same recruiting class as Nerlens Noel and Steven Adams. lol.
