Barca has not looked like Barca lately. Yesterday they went down 3-0 in the first half and ended up losing 4-3.

Real on the other hand is looking shaky as well.

Well, I guess there are no La Liga fans in here? Thinking of starting to watch some of the league this year, and I am somewhat surprised there is no one here who seems to be a big fan.

Not enough competition. I like its not usually very competitive. This year is off to a good start I must say

I agree.

I don't enjoy the EPL as much as I used to, and I used to really be into Serie A (until it got so dirty, that I couldn't stomach it really).

This is my first time watching La Liga - We get the BeIN Channel so it makes sense. Plus, it we get the Spanish broadcasts of the matches so I'm definitely intrigued by that.

Valencia vs Barcelona this weekend. Hoping the Bats can pull the upset.

yeah, that's why when I picked a team, I left those alone. Too easy, IMO.

Solid choice. I like watching them and it's nice to see them fighting with the 'big two'

I always like Valencia. 1-15 years ago they were legitimately challenging for La Liga, even winning it.
Not sure what happened, maybe ownership/financial issues, but they really fell of.

Canizares is one of my favorite all time goal keepers and IMO was WAY better than Iker Casillas, but Santi wasn't the golden boy from Real Madrid like Casillas, nor was he a favorite of Del Bosque.

Also, how does anyone not like a team with a bat in it's logo?

And yes Valencia is a beautiful city, one of the best, if not the most beautiful in Spain but overshadowed by Barcelona and Madrid. But that's ok...less tourists.

Also, I wouldn't say I'm a fan, but I've always had a lot of respect for Athletic Bilbao. They've had a pretty good history of success considering they ONLY sign Basque players, and even though they could afford it, never wavered from that tradition by getting "outsiders".

Atletico Madrid got relegated before? Somewhat shocking. I know they weren't exactly good until the last couple of seasons but surprising that they been relegated before.

Yeah, it was around 1999-2000. I remember some sort of financial scandal with club execs causing it (not a penalty, just team performing poorly because of it). They were down in Segunda for a couple of seasons.

Yeah, Valencia still hasn't recovered from the financial crisis of a few years ago when they had to sell David Villa, David Silva, Roberto Saldado, and Juan Mata.

Now that Peter Lim is the new owner, I expect them to slowly start getting back to competing for La Liga.

Don't think they can hold on, but it's be nice to see Bilbao win this game.
