It sucks for the Kings because he was a trade chip they lost, but it sucks more for him when he was about to be a FA. And on top of that, the Kings are about to lose a game where they led by 19 at halftime.

Kings finish the 7 game home stand with a classic collapse and a 1-6 record. Now they have an 8 game road trip over a 12 day span(3 sets of B2B's) to end the month. And they most likely lost their 2nd best scorer and best trade chip not named Demarcus Cousins for the rest of the season. I hate being a Kings fan sometimes...

averaging 6.2 minutes, 1 pt per game, 25% shooting.....he really fell off after December where he averaged a whole 10 minutes per game and 2.2 pts a game on 35.5% shooting. Maybe Kerr is just saving him for the Finals?

an interesting article on Solomon Hill....was trying to do a little due-dilligence on why he got the contact he did because he obviously isnt a prolific scorer or anything

I dunno...the things that kind of stuck out at me...
he is 25 and a SF that plays pretty decent defense- SF is a hard position to find in the NBA

he is a very good clubhouse and leadership guy.
his shooting thus far has been ATROCIOUS though...practically unplayable. Its hard to play a guy shooting under 38% from the field unless all they are doing is taking 3's- which he obviously is not.
"Solomon Hill is a good signing for the organization because he is a company man, a true professional. His approach to the game is as consistent and unquestionable as they come. He sets the tone every single day he walks into practice not only with his effort, but with his energy and his acumen. He is constantly talking, constantly leading by example.
Defensively he gives you everything you would want apart from that upper echelon of athleticism you can only be gifted at birth. He can switch effectively onto anyone on the perimeter, contain penetration, and won’t blow an assignment. With communication, smart help, and fundamentally sound one-on-one defense Hill instantly improves this Pelicans squad at least on one end. Post All-star break he posted the best Net-Rating and Defensive-Rating on the Pacers, well at least for guys who stuck around and got minutes
So in a sense, you know exactly what you are getting with Hill, and you do need what he brings, things that the Pelicans needed to address, like defense, work ethic, basketball intelligence, things you need to build a good culture around your team and organization. But at the same time, you are banking on continued improvement on the offensive end. If he doesn’t improve on that end, he becomes just another one way player that the Pels will inevitably need to upgrade to get back to the Playoffs. He is 25 with just 169 games in 3 seasons, there is room for improvement, but will Gentry and his staff be able to get it out of him?"
