Go back and watch games 6 and 7.
Draymond played.
They lost.
If Kyrie misses, the game is tie.
You are assuming Warriors win game 5 because Draymond plays.
You are assuming Warriors win in O.T.

You could play the "what if" game all day.

You could go back to the Finals in the Previous year also. (Game 1 -- Cavs miss 2 shots that would have won it.)

Look at all the NCAA games this weekend where if you changed one play -- it could have been different. (yes, Tar Heels ... it was either a travel or a charge)

It is always the team that lost who play the "what if" game.

Yep. I stand by it too.

Listened to SAS on his radio show for a bit.

He is completely right. Silver is being run over by these players.

It makes sense. Cowherd said the same thing. He's all about being chummy with these cucks. Noticed that this has escalated since Stern retired. Pop did it once and Stern fined the Spurs for doing it during a prime time game. Stern's first objective as commissioner was to make sure the NBA's bottom line wasn't impacted in a negative way. Looks like Silver's lost sight of that.

What other superstar rested during a nationally televised game...how about Steph on 3/11 when the Warriors played @ San Antonio?

Was he drinking coffee and laughing while his teammates were getting beat by 30? How many times has he rested vs. Lebron? Did all 4 sit out? Or just Steph?

Yeah....I expected the Cavs to rest them against the lowly Lakers.

Me too. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they played. It's good for our young guys to play against a team like that, especially since they actually played well and even outplayed the Cavs for most of the game.

But given the choice, you rest them against a team like the Lakers, not a playoff team like the Clips.

I totally agree.
It was pretty obvious though that the Warriors players wanted that regular season win record.
My opinion is that took a lot out of them.
I'll bet you see a different approach this season as it winds down.

Big assumption.
How do we know it was coffee?

you just called the 3 guys fags for resting. gmafb

That's because compared to the '72 Lakers, they are fags. Of course, everyone but you got the joke. I see you haven't apologized yet. Looks like I'm going to have to show you I'm serious about taking posts out of context.

How does a week away from this thread sound?

It's a slippery slope though. I'm all for the fans recouping their money, but no one's going to offer refunds if there's a season ending injury to one of their players. I don't see any plausible way to enforce this to make teams have to pay back the fans.

Not really. No one is advocating giving the fans their money back or discounting tickets for players missing games due to a legitimate injury. It's this resting crap that needs to be addressed. Especially on the road and in nationally televised games.

All the sudden he's a proponent for rest.

Lebron has been to the last 6 finals in a row. Won 50% of them, won the championship last year and is the defending champion and you are worried about what he is doing in a regular season game...lol

Refunds will never happen.
The big dollars are being spent on the secondary market.

Teams should get rid of the tiered pricing though.
That's a pretty recent thing.
It used to be, and should be the same price for ever game IMO.

One way around this is for teams to have significant promotional items they can give away to fans on that particular night. If say the Warriors decided to rest Steph and Draymond, they could offer the first 10,000 fans food vouchers or something similar.

The problem with this becomes that most teams elect to rest their players on the road and not at home. So how do say the Nuggets fans deal with Lebron and Kyrie resting. It's not their fault that fans paid at their arena are upset.

I like the promo give away, but teams already do that. It's an easy fix. You get X number of "non-injury rest games" that are used at each teams discretion. Those tickets are sold at a decent discount and they have to be home games that are being televised nationally.

I'd also advocate some kind of financial incentive/reward for teams that don't use all of their rest games.
