Win TWINS!!!
Least Racist Member
Just thought I'd open this up to see if anyone checked in over the course of the season.
The loss to TCU was a tough one to handle, and it was a reminder of how far the Gophers still have to go.
Yeah that was a really dominating performance by the Gophers, who controlled both sides of the game from beginning to end. Definitely the type of win we needed early in the Big 10 season.
Once Big Ten season starts things can spiral out of control quickly, especially for a team like the Gophers that never have the 'elite' talent needed to lead a team out of a funk. But as you point out, the opposite can be true as well, with the Gophers thinking themselves too big for their britches. Either way I am happy that we had a week off to get healthier for the upcoming 3 game stretch. NW, Purdue and Illinois - all are winnable games but nothing in the Big Ten is a gimme. If we win these three we are in good shape for the final tough four game stretch.
Awesome win. NW is a respectable team so I don't mind one bit that the score was close. Good teams win close games, bad teams don't.
May these last two games have just been nail biters. I wish that the Purdue game would have been a little more of a blowout, because it would have given me more confidence about the level of talent that our team has. What I mean by that is, if we clearly had a more talented team it would be nice to see us just dominate both sides of the ball. But since we don't have that sort of talent, I have to say that there is something nice about consistently winning close games. I don't know if we can continue to do it or not though.
