So is this Guentzel kid good or something? Put right on the second line, and immediately tallies two goals.

Missed the game, only saw the score and who was in goal. Fleury is the backup, that much is clear this year...

Still believe the Pens are slogging their way thru the year after a long battle to win the cup and major stars playing in the World cup...

Lots of very talented and great teams in the East...

His first goal was very nice, imo. The second one was a rebound that he was smartly following up on by going to the net. I remember the talk on him in camp was that he has smart offensive instincts. Certainly looked that way. Guentzel definitely impressed last night.

still L :sigh:

Yeah you have to like they put him right in the top 6. I wish the same would have happened last year for Sprong.

Thats what scares me about the expansion draft. MAF better recind that NMC or we can kiss Murray goodbye.

Pens up 5-1 now after Sheary caps off about a 2 minute shift (with two full line changes) in the offensive zone with a goal.

And they start the 3rd with another PP.

Yeah who would have thought right now Crosby would have double digit goals and Kessel double digit assists.

They both have the skill sets to do it. Crosby's a great goal scorer, and Kessel's a great passer. The ratios are still surprising, though.

Very true. Neither get the credit for the latter.

Back to the game Sheary/Hagelin/Crosby looks scary good right now. A lot of speed and all play a similar forechecking style that seems to create a lot of open space.

I still like Hornqvist better on Crosby's right wing, but Hagelin's speed is essential, I think. I also wouldn't mind seeing Sheary teamed back up with Wilson; they work really well together.

I'm also really liking Guentzel with Malkin and Kessel. Kunitz might end up on the fourth line in Kuhnhakl's role.

Yeah when healthy Hornqvist should be there.

The depth among the forwards is incredible.

And the Rangers finally recorded a shot in the third period.

Truthfully probably wouldn't be bad to scratch Kunitz vs Kuhnhakl at times on who is playing better.
That is the beauty of this team this year the younger players like Rust, Sheary and Wilson they can move up and down the lineup. On the other hand Kuhnhakl's strength is the bottom six and Guentzel looks like a top 6 player who really doesn't fit a role on the bottom 6.

Ha...I was typing that same thing. Funny hearing the crowd reaction.

As for the forward that is truly a testimate to Sullivan believing in those younger forwards.

They could put Kunitz and Sheary with Bonino when Kunitz is healthy again to try to spark Bonino. That pushes Rust to the fourth line, too. And Fehr can play on the left wing, which means we wouldn't even need Kuhnhakl all the time.
