@bksballer89 morning to you, you did.

Exciting game last night... Did anyone else NOT expect it to be entertaining and high scoring?

Will this be what we see from the rest of the play-offs?

Word.

In the 2nd half of the season, the four starting pitchers we've seen combined to average 6.03 IP/GS with an ERA of 3.32.

In their Wild Card Game starts, they combined to average 1.83 IP/GS with an 18.41 ERA.

That's crazy shit.

No, I would not expect that trend to continue through the playoffs.

I thought the Diamondbacks would win, but as with any elimination game, I was hoping for some excitement. By the end of the 2nd, I was convinced it was going to be a sleeper.

2 games in and we haven't seen a starter get into the 5th inning.

Sale vs Verlander at 4
Bauer vs Gray at 730

Biggest moment of the night, bottom of the 7th, 2 outs, 2 men on, Archie Bradley up to bat and hits a 2-run triple. First extra base hit of his career.

1st postseason game with 4 triples since Game 1 of the 2003 NLCS and just the 3rd time since 1916. Also occurred in Game 5 of the 1991 World Series

I believe I also heard that Bradley's triple was the first postseason triple ever by a pitcher.

As far as pitching is concerned that is a scary trend about not making it past the 5th inning

Now that's a trend I could see continuing through the postseason.

With the strength of the Indians' bullpen, I'd be surprised if their starters average much more than 5 IP/GS. Not because they don't have good starters, that have fabulous starters, the best <flips quarter to President Trump> but to take advantage of the bullpen strength.

I'd expect the same from the Yankees, Dodgers and maybe even Red Sox.

It's a brave new world.

True the Indians do have the luxury of not having to make their rotation go deep into ballgames.. But that could come back to bite them

Honestly I'll admit I only watched about 5 minutes of the actual game and the rest was on GameCast but when I saw 6-0 I thought it would be as well...

Dontrelle Willis did it in Game 4 of the 2003 NLDS actually 14 years ago to the day.

Also accomplished by:
Tom Glavine in Game 7 of the 1996 NLCS
Dutch Ruether in Game 1 of the 1919 World Series, who actually had 2
Babe Ruth in Game 1 of the 1918 World Series
Cy Young in Game 5 of the 1903 World Series
