As a Cubs fan I kinda want Strasburg instead of Roark. Roark owns the Cubs for some reason. Dusty shoulda had him go in game 1 IMO

This is why they pay him the big bucks. The nats top starters are soft man.

As mad dog said yesterday, Mad Max should have told Dusty to fuck off when he came to take him out up 1-0 in the 7th to bring in a guy who had a 5.88 ERA in the regular season

how big of a disappointment has starsburg been?

8 seasons

once over 200 IP
twice over 200 k's
led the league in 2 stats...starts and k's, in one year, once.
never won more than 15 games
2 CGs. TWO!

hes basically a 6 IP, 7 K guy who doesnt win games.

So, a big narrative prior to Game 2 was CC's 1.71 ERA in games he started following a Yankee loss.
Now that we're looking at his start in Game 5 follow a Yankee win, I figured it'd be relevant to see how he pitched in his starts in following a Yankee win.

He averaged 5 IP/GS with a 5.38 ERA in those starts.

On the other side, Corey Kluber shit the bed twice during the regular season. In his 4/15 and 7/29 starts, he combined for a 7.11 ERA.

In Kluber's two starts after shitting the bed, he pitched 18 innings with 3 BB, 18 K with a 0.50 ERA.

Good thing they kept him out of the playoffs a few yrs ago for situations like this... this is hilarious. Every player in the locker room had to be calling him a puss

so are like 90% of today's starting pitchers.

the guy has a 131 ERA+ and 23.9 WAR under his belt so far. he hasn't really had a full dominant season, but come on, the guy's still been a great pitcher when he's been on the mound.

wins are also a garbage stat but if we're going to go down that road, his W-L% is the 4th best among active pitchers.
