Well my friends, it wasn't as pretty as any of us wanted it to be. But, at the end of the night we did win, and we are undefeated.

I did see some positives in today's game:
Rees, 346 yards passing 3 TD's and most importantly 0 turnovers.
Jones, 6 catches for 138 yards.
Carlisle, 7 carries for 68 yards, 9.7 average.
McDaniel, 12 carries for 65 yards, 5.4 average.

I know we were all disappointed in the defense, but still only gave up 6 points.

Let's take this win, and head to the Big House. One win at a time guys, just like last season.

"" ... at the end of the night we did win, and we are undefeated. ""

as are half the teams in the nation. this kind of solace makes me want to engage in a personal protein spill. you cannot wash away the fact this was against temple that easily. TEMPLE!

bad start, plain and simple. there was nothing good to take away from this game. it bodes ill for the future and you KNOW it.

Defense only gave up 6 point because Temple is a crappy team. Allow Michigan to march down on the field at will next week like Temple did and they will score 28 or more.

They need to play much better on the road in Michigan next week just to have a chance at winning

It's one game. Game one. Let the cliff jumpings begin. I love all the hyperbole. We've played a weak opponent and so did Michigan. When I watch the game I may not see the speed of a Clemson or Georgia but never the less I still see a lot of talent out there. Take a deep breath and enjoy the moment. At least wait until after the Michigan game to make an honest assessment, or perhaps you may have the opinion that the Irish showed all their cards.

Idseer,
I suggest that you take your own advice and engage in a personal protein spill, you may even want to contemplate castration. Wow.

I was making jest of all the hyperbole. The wanting to puke reference, I just found it comical. No more no less.

Completely meant in jest , honestly don't take it to heart. It's football and enjoy the victory a little. That was merely my point, don't take it literally. I don't want a lawsuit.

I think of this game as the right game to reveal sloppy mistakes so ND can fix them. A sloppy win still counts....and there will need to be a lot of corrections made before Michigan (no secret). I was very surprised by how different this defense looks without Teo. I really hope we only saw a sliver of the playbook and that some year we actually have special teams worth a damn. Best take away for me about Game One: NO TURNOVERS! Go Irish get after Michigan!

the offense came out on fire in the first 6 minutes and then did nothing besides one long td pass. the defense couldn't get off the field against temple. not many positives to take away from this one imo

Well, one positive would be that a crappy performance can now result in a 28-6 win. A nice improvement over crappy performances resulting in losses to Tulsa, Connecticut, South Florida and Navy.

Like I said, I was not impressed, but then again I was not impressed by really anyone this weekend. I look at this game as a pre season game. First time on the field as one, going against another team. Gotta get use to the guys around you. I thought the Def was pretty shitty in the first half, but then showed up in the 2nd half. I think Temple going into the 4th had 89 yrds of offense in the 2nd half? The offense is was what it is. I mean, Temple gave up some big plays, but, I also saw these WR makes some good adjustments on the passes, and the speed was clearly there. Not impressed with the run game at all. I was expecting more. I know some of you love GA3 as a RB, but I am not on board with that. He should be the 3rd down back and KO return man. Would have liked to see the young RB more. J.Smith looks like he is going to be a beast this yr, kid just looks like a football player. Oh well....turning the page to next Sat!!!

This game was actually laughable from my expectations with a rookie coach and a baseball pitcher that has never EVER taken a college football snap...

Passing ... 228
Rushing ... 134
Total Offense ... 362 fng yard from this???

Dominating defense my butt ... this team was ill-prepared IMO.

We come out smokin for the first 2 series ... then what? NOTHING. I was on the verge of losing my seat for a good old fashion ND beatdown ... but ... NOOOOO. Things went flat ... it's like this team said YA ... WE BAD ... JUST CASH IT IN FROM HERE ON OUT ... blahhhhhhhhh.

28-6 against a fng Temple? Puhhhleeeezeeeeeeee ...

If we trot on up to Ann Arbor with this tude and play ... God help us!!!

Did the Wolvermeenies take care of biz against an inner-state rival? Oh yes they did against CMU ... 59 pts wasnt it?

We dont stand a chance if a Michigan defense shows up like they did against CMU. Rees and the Irish O got lucky ... thank God for them first two drives, cuz they did ABSOLUTELY nothing after IMO. This team worries me now. Where's that dominating O line everyone was talking about? Where is it???? Michigan will kill us if we dont MAN UP and play ND football. I'm sick of this ... playing down to opponents ... especially when we have their throats beneath our cleats!!!
