unreal he keeps going. hes REALLY learned to "pitch". he used to throw hard.

CC's last 5 starts (27 IP to prices 30 over that stretch)

3-2
1.67 ERA
.189 BA against
.230 BaBIP (see prices at .316)

Wouldnt mind the Yanks giving him a next to nothing one year deal for next season.......Reputation as being great with the young guys...I wouldnt pay him substantially, but Id keep him around

Tough call.....On the broadcast yesterday, they were showing some stats that i dont remember, and he really is starting to stack up in some elite company in regards to all time Lefty pitchers

he is, which is why i bring it up.

jamie moyer pitched until he was 47 (49 if you count his last hurrah in CO)

he learned to pitch after he lost his fastball (not that he ever threw as hard as CC)

he won 20 games twice, after age 36. he was what CC is now. soft tossing lefty with a ton if innings on his arm. CC is "only" 800 innings behind him. he can do that in 5 years easy.

is rosario coming up?

Probably sometime in the next week or 2 hopefully.
Trade deadline is looming. Mets are pretty much sellers at this point.
Reyes & Cabrera are likely to be dealt.....maybe Duda too as far as infielders go.
Dom Smith should/could also be called up.

Is 250 wins the new benchmark? i believe it is
Kershaw is at 140 should make 250 but needs 160 in 10 years for 300 and no one else is even close
yes wins are a bad judge of pitching but not to the writers:suds:

Think thats changing....Wins for a pitcher are becoming increasingly meaningless in this sabemetric driven world

but there has to be a watermark, and i think 250 is the new 300. its why felix hernandex may not even sniff the hall. he is baseball dying before our eyes, and is only 31...with 159 wins. i dont think hes up for the pedro treatment either.

Todd Frazier sucks. Would be a mistake to pick him up.

I agree he shouldn't be in
I don't know many HOF pitchers that became punching bags at 30-31

Has been better since June 1st I believe

If the price is right, his HRs seem to be what they really need

It is but he alone isn't going to fix it.

Still bitter at Benintendi for not going to third on that Bradley hit on Sat. These idiots should be instructed to be as aggressive as possible on the base paths and that really wasn't that aggressive of a move.

Big time gaffe.....Way too much respect for Judge's arm on that one......They showed that he was at 2nd base by time he fielded it

I assume Judge has a cannon - but even so the Sox have to recognize they're not getting 3 hits in an inning. The RISP batting is abysmal. Take the shot even if he's thrown out. That's why I loved the double steal on Friday.

If you're not going to hit with RISP or homer, you have to try and make up for it by pushing the limits on the base paths. Papi isn't coming to the plate to hit that clutch double any more. These guys should take a page out of the Royals of 2014/2015.

Agreed.....At some point yesterday, they showed that the Sox against the Yankees this season were like 2-47 with RISP.......knew that double steal was coming, stealing off Betances and Chapman is too god damn easy......they say it all the time on the broadcasts that Betances with runners on becomes a mediocre pitcher...Every walk is a double, and he also tends to lose the plate out of the stretch

Cant speak to what the Nats gave up, maybe someone can

But Madsen and Doolittle would have cured a lot of woes for a lotta contending teams

Personally think the Sox pulled the trigger on Panda too soon. But as the saying goes . . . it's not my money.
