Not ever year does the best team play for a championship. Its the teams with the best records.
You nailed it David. This just looks like a year when we won't have the best in the NCG. It happens.
Back in the late 70's and 80's, during Seattle's AFC West days we always called em the SeaDogs in Denver. But I suppose they are a little better than that nowadays.
Already have the National Championship matchup I want to see, well at least the best 2 teams in the country meeting each other. Tune in this Saturday to the game in Atlanta.
I completely disagree with both of you and I think we need to leave it at that. Glavine was a dominant pitcher, much more so than Shilling especially. And look at the disparity in innings pitched besides the obvious stats.
Only way there are close to 10 worthy people on this ballot is if...
No need to vote for 10 guys. If your an actual voter/elector you only vote for people that are HOF worthy. Shilling, no way. Mussina, you make a good argument, but I would still really be on the fence about him too. It is the Hall of Fame, not the Hall of the Very Good.
I'm thinking yellow was in the title of one of your various SN's last season. Like Mellow Yellow or Yellow Submarine or something like those? The forlorn over reaction in your posts are your signature.
Most of what you read about Manning is the drivel, like Elway spewed recently.
The only drivel I have read about Manning is the six pages that you have written, Ron.
Hey Smarter,
I just think Frank Thomas clearly a stronger candidate than Baggs or Piazza. Biggio not as clear of case but he brought other skills on the infield and consistency.
In Glavine's case, more wins and maybe I can't some of his really dominant appearance against my Redbirds out of my...
The deciding factor for me for Raines and not Walker but base running. The stolen bases and disruption that Raines caused when he reached base. I will say that Raines was the most marginal on my list but I would go with him. I admit I'm pretty biased too as I loved his attitude.
