My apologies Skin'Em, I wasn't paying attention with Maye being selected at #2. I don't know how/what I missed either. My bad. That is a very good draft.
Made complete sense from the organizational perspective. That's all that matters really. Admittedly, Daniels sucks at golf. So what was to become of this meeting of talents, that's what the organization took note of. If WASH wants to pick Daniels, they will. JD isn't picking them.
Would like to see Kremer step up today with a solid start. Burnes Saturday then the dreadful Irvin Sunday. It's hard to complete sweeps when you have a weak link in the chain however, this would be possible if our guys continue to rake.
This team has a very young nucleus that just may convince Burnes to stay long term. With the Wells injury (Suarez pitched great today) and Irvin's struggles, we need another #2 anyway, and as insurance for Bradish as I'm not counting on Means at all.
Maybe a combination of Urias or Mateo and a...
At this point I cannot say that I'm not impressed with the off season so far. Solid hire in Quinn all though early on most here didn't want or like the hire. Even better coaching staff assembled. Addressed areas of need at reasonable prices to set themselves up in the draft.
I'm looking forward...
Man what a group of talented young players. Our starting pitching however, no so much.
We have Burnes, Rodriguez and Kremer. Not sure Bradish will hold up when he returns, Means hurt again. We need pitching once again.
We have discovered early that Irvin and Wells just plain suck. We definitely need another top arm in our rotation or the season will end much like last year. Burnes was an extremely good pickup for the top of the rotation but nothing else. Bradish may come back, may get hurt again who knows...
