No worries here. We pound the ball into Sags and let him defend the dribble penetration. Murray State has not seen a big man like Sags or a defense like WVU. They will wear down and run out of fouls. WV 78 Murray State 69.
The loss vs Iowa State comes down to 3 reasons in my mind: 1) shooting 2) man to man defense & Turnovers. We didn't get the ball in spots to score more easily and when we is---we bricked it. Our man to man was pathetic. Burton schooled Adrian badly and the other 3 guards were able to make open...
If you have a heart condition(as I do), West Virginia Basketball is not good to watch. Your blood pressure will rise and you will experience a rapid heart beat. For much of the season, that explains this team's play especially in conference where anybody can beat you on any given night. Senior...
God how I laughed my ass off at this thread! Let's get something straight about SFA--they were not that good of a basketball team. We played like a school bus full of "mentally challenged" kids. WVU lost because SFA had the best player on the floor and he schooled them like nobody's business...
Well it is good to see the feud between BB and WVUDAD is still alive. I hope all you posters are well this season. So, 20-6 ranked in the top 10 3 different times during the year and we blow a 14 pt. lead. Big deal? Not really, in fact, probably the best thing that could have happened at this...
WVU falls just a little bit short against the Sooners today but the effort cannot be faulted. The Mountaineers never gave up and fought to the bitter end in a contest that neither team could hold a lead. OU goes up 7-0 to start the game and then WV scores 5 points in 16 seconds. Then it was WV...
There might have been a Blizzard outside the Coliseum tonight that kept a few fans away but the real storm was on the court and that was the WV Press Defense. The Mountaineers forced the Jayhawks into 22 turnovers in route to a victory over the #1 ranked team in college basketball. 33 years ago...
The Mountaineers played another mistake filled game tonight but overcame a 7 point deficit and 22 turnovers to finish off the Horned Frogs 95-87. This contest had the makings of an upset as WV had 5 players(Macon, Williams, Holton, Paige, & Adrian)with 4 fouls with over 10 minutes left in the...
I have been around Basketball for a long time and have had ties to this program for several years now but I just don't think we are very consistent. Stupid turnovers and bonehead plays are keeping this team from taking it to the next level. A level that lets you compete with teams like Kentucky...
That was an exhausting game in which WV was flat and full of "low energy". Yet the Mountaineers hung around and kept slugging it out until they wore down the WILDCATS in the second OT. WV make a lot of mental mistakes in this ball game to include turning it over 15 times. The Mountaineers...
BB--Cal has a tremendous talent inside but the Coach hasn't let the other players on the team know. Richmond on the other hand knew they had a great player and kept getting him the ball. I think he finished with 34. The best game of the year will be WV and UVA. This will be be must watch...
Sometimes a poor performance in one game can lead to a great performance in the next game. Tonight WV was not great but was certainly better as they win the Championship of the Las Vegas Continental Tire Invitational. WV used a 15-0 run in the first half to run out to a 34-26 halftime lead. SDSU...
The WV Mountaineers advance to 5-0 by beating the pesky Spiders of Richmond 67-59 this evening at the Las Vegas Continental Tire Invitational at the Orleans Arena. WV jumped out to an early lead helped by a swarming, pressing defense but the Spiders adapted and kept this game close throughout...
Looked like Don Nehlen football today. Run, Run, Run and pass only when you think you have 'em fooled. We found the strength of this team last week and today. Just run baby run!
Welcome back! It is that time of the year where the preseason fever runs high with dreams of getting to a national championship. I don't think the euphoria should reach that high of a peak but there is room for hope. Last year WVU had a great talents in Jawan Staton and Gary Browne who...
Been a while since I have posted on here but after last nights debacle, I couldn't help from expressing an opinion at this time. First of all, I have liked the Holgorsen offensive system but something has gone awry.
Sure we just came through a brutal stretch but if you think TT, Texas, KSU is...
Looking at the line up tonight, I am completely confused. low and behold the game has been called due to inclement weather but HOW IN THE FUCK DO YOU NOT START THE HOTTEST HITTER ON YOUR TEAM AFTER HE HAS HIT 4HR'S IN THE LAST 2 DAYS??? That is just plain stupid! In fact, that is Dustmop-ish...
I think Dejesus is real. I like his bat swing, his plate aggressiveness, stance, everything about this kid says he can hit and hit for some power. Gotta let him play--what choice do you have now?
Dejesus is the real deal. Make no mistake about it. This is a starter and player to build this team around. I think he can hit 20HR and .280 if he plays everyday and that is alot better than some of the bullshit we have on the field now.
Having had 5 knee operations, I think I know exactly what happened to Zach. If you noticed, he could not straighten the knee when he came off the field. That is a sign of a meniscus tear or cartilage tear. He most likely is done for the year.
