Great recruiting class, but no drama = no need to constantly watch the monitor, or to complain about the guy who flipped and catfished a coach on the radio.
Good to see that Houshun Gaines signed. He caught some grief on the boards during his recruitment, but he's on board now. I hope he can get focused now.
Scot Loeffler deserves lots of credit for pulling in Dwayne Lawson. I see this as a big plus for Loeffler -- QB development is his wheelhouse.
Here are some comments from Lawson's coach: "We've had 11 kids play in the league, and he's the best true quarterback I've ever coached," Garcia...
I agree.
And if you're a VT fan, no drama on signing day is a GOOD thing. Beamer and company don't exactly have a "swing them on the last day" technique. They have more of a "win them over a long period of time" technique.
VT sold more season tickets for basketball this year than last year, so it's trending the right direction. The ultimate cure is winning, so Pitt was a step in the right direction.
If they're smart enough to be college students, they should be smart enough to know that adjustments for cost of living mean that if they get more, it's because it costs more to live in that location. I know it won't come across that way, but it should have been a fixed amount then.
I wish JVZ well, and he will be a Virginia Tech grad. I don't know exactly what happened, but I'm guessing it was unacceptable to Buzz.
VT needs some big men for next year. Preferably ones who can make free throws.
Eh, whatever. Like I said, I don't see it as a promotion. VT should have whipped out the checkbook. The biggest advantage I see here is in getting a variety of jobs in to help with future upward mobility.
Blue showed he didn't have any character by the way he handled his recruitment, so it wasn't all that surprising when his lack of character showed up later at Miami. He actually saved VT some grief by going somewhere else.
The VT coaches already showed generosity by giving Gaines a second...
He might just be taking a free trip, however.
Like with those condo trips for a free vacation and a toaster. Sometimes people make costly mistakes on those trips, though.
It's a little bit of a slap in the face, given his earlier mishap with Florida. The time to take your visits is BEFORE you commit. I'd be disappointed with him if he changed his mind now.
I'd expect some strong words next week about him still being committed to VT. That said, VT is free to...
Urban Meyer and Ohio State are going to show up in Lane Stadium next year looking for blood.
I'd love to see VT beat 'em again.
Can the stars align twice?
