depends on how long i plan to bulk age a beer.
if i am brewing a marzan, i will rack it off the trub before i let it lager.
if it is pale, i will cold crash it for a day or two to drop everything out, then keg it.
of course that is all opinion. every brewer has plenty of opinions. :suds:
Add me to the list of kids killed my brewing. Brewed so much that I bought my base malts in 55lb sacks. Converted a freezer to a 4 tap kegerator with a stout faucet & nitro. Nothing like the smell of cooking wort.
I do have a question, why are you covering the kettle during the boil?

I don’t drink often these days. Just not worth the downside anymore. Though when it gets this time of year, I get a hankering. Really more of a hankering to brew.

Have put 500 or so rounds through the Shield since I bought it. No issues so far. I like the way it feels in my (that's what she said) hand. It carries well.
